Construction site briefing

The buildings around the pergola are being renovated, and the construction project began in December 2023. The project entails ongoing changes to access routes and parking conditions on campus. The following is currently happening:
Planned power outages at RUC in weeks 27 and 28
In weeks 27 and 28 in 2025, from Saturday 28 June to Sunday 13 July, the power supply to several buildings and installations at Roskilde University will be periodically interrupted.
The power outages will affect most of Roskilde University. The reason is that main electrical panels need to be replaced.
It is necessary to interrupt the power supply for periods in connection with switching to emergency supply / generator operation at the start and end of the work, respectively. At the start date and end date, the affected buildings may be without power for up to five consecutive hours.
As mentioned, the power outages affect most of RUC. However, the following buildings and installations are not affected by the work as they are connected to another power source:
- Building 28
- Buildings 36, 37, 38, 39
- Electric vehicle charging points (Clever + OK)

Access restriction introduced in Kvadratroden
The Square Root (Kvadratroden) is one of the main entrances to the campus area for pedestrians and vehicles. From February 2024, pedestrians and vehicles will be more effectively separated through Kvadratroden.
Campus Service has installed bollards in Kvadratroden. Pedestrians and cyclists still have free access. Vehicular traffic with a legitimate errand on campus must now call the reception to gain access.
This initiative is intended to increase safety for pedestrians and cyclists on campus.
No access to the construction site - it can be dangerous to go in there
The renovation of the buildings around the old pergola has begun and the construction site has been fenced off. It is very important for safety that you do not enter the construction site. Demolition is taking place inside and outside the old buildings, so entering the site can be extremely risky.
You should also be aware that there are many lorries and other construction traffic travelling to and from the site.
Extra noisy activities
Noisy work will occasionally occur. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided and we hope for your understanding. We try to plan noisy work during holiday periods, for example, when as few people as possible are on campus.
Construction project means fewer parking spaces
5 out of 8 parking spaces in parking area "P2" will be taken out of service for the entire period of construction.
