The Research Group for Criminal Justice Ethics conducts research in the ethical questions that arise in relation to police work, the work by the courts, and the punishment system. The main focus of the work of the group has been placed on questions concerning theories of criminalization and penal theory.
In recent years, the group has been involved in a number of different research projects, such as projects concerning the implementation of neuroscience in the criminal courts and the use of neurointerventions in crime prevention. Moreover, the research group has recently initiated a project on the use of artificial intelligence in sentencing.
